Garrett Counseling - Alabama

Please know your call is important to us. We receive a large number of calls daily but respond to them within 24 hours. If you call and do not get a person, please leave a message. We return all messages within 24 hours on each business day. When you call our office you will be directed to our scheduling desk where you will be asked several questions regarding your mental health needs and your insurance. You will need to have your schedule and insurance card available when you call the office.

If your child has Medicaid, please note that we can not make an appointment until we have received the Medical referral from your child’s primary physician.


**Please note: Alabama Medicaid is not accepted at our Jacksonville or Jasper locations. We do accept Alabama Medicaid at our Albertville / Boaz and Huntsville locations.

You will be asked questions such as:

  • Insurance Type
  • Contract/Member ID
  • Client Name
  • Client Date of Birth
  • Insurance Holder Name
  • Insurance Holder Date of Birth
  • Primary Care Physician
  • If your child has Medicaid, please note that we can not make an appointment until we have received the Medicaid referral from your child’s primary physician.

Checking In to Your Appointment

We utilize a digital checkin procedure when you arrive for your appointments. With this procedure, the parking lot will be our “waiting room”. This can be confusing at your first appointment. These directions will also be sent to you when you schedule your intake appointment.

When you arrive for your appointment, please complete the following steps:


  1.  Locate the sign on the front door of our office. Scan the QR code located on the sign with your smartphone (alternatively, you can visit this website: Once you scan the code (or visit the website listed above), complete the form by filling in the client information (or your child’s information).
  2. When prompted, type the access code located on the front door.
  3. Select your counselor.
  4. Press “sign in”.
  5. Return to your car and wait until your counselor comes out to greet you.
    Please note: Your counselor will come out to greet you. If your counselor is more than 10 minutes late, please contact your scheduler to notify them.

As a part of GCC’s strict adherence to the ethical code of the American Counseling Association, our staff does keep limited pro bono slots available. We have partnered with a local nonprofit organization to offer additional financial assistance for those who meet the requirements through our Mental Health For All program. In order to be considered, please complete the form. This form must be completed and processed before assistance can be applied to your account. The level of payment assistance will be determined after consultation with our billing department.

No-Show Cancellation Appeals Form

Appointments must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advanced of your appointment or you will be billed for your appointment.

If you must cancel your appointment less than 48 hours beforehand, due to illness or serious emergency, you may complete the appeals form below to be considered for a reduction (in the form of a partial refund to your account). Please plan ahead and cancel at least 48 hours in advance to avoid the fee. Unless you make other arrangements for payment (with cash or check), we will automatically bill the fee to your credit card on file the day and time of your appointment. If we have made an error in scheduling or you believe you deserve special consideration for a “No-Show / Late Cancelation Fee”, please complete the form below. Your request will be reviewed and you will receive a decision via email.
