Location(s): Huntsville

Alyssa joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2023, and she has been working in the mental health field for one year. She is an Associate Licensed Counselor (#04562) under the supervision of Leah Simmons, LPC-S (#3334).

Alyssa enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ community, survivors of abuse, and clients dealing with shame. She uses a Gestalt Approach to counseling. Alyssa says, “I want to treat the whole person not just aspects of them. This shows up in sessions because although there might be a problem in one area, this could relate or have consequences to other aspects of the person. I also use unconditional positive regard. I will respect and try my best to empathize with every consumer that I see, building a safe space for them.”
