Program Content Description: This training will teach participants theory and practice of Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT). Providing both historical and experiential learning opportunities, participants will gain insight on how to use CPRT with their clients by developing a stronger therapeutical foundation as well as non-directive skills for therapy.

Learning Objectives Include:

  • Participant will be able to list key figures that have contributed to the research of Child-Parent Relationship Therapy.
  • Participant will be able to explain the basic theoretical tenets of Child-Parent Relationship Therapy.
  • Participant will be able to implement 5 skills used in CPRT.
  • Participant will be able to explain to caregivers the evidence supporting CPRT and benefits to using this approach.
