Counselor Havis, LPC

Havis joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2015, but she has been working in the mental health field for over 7 years! She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#4434). She has a bachelor’s degree is psychology and a master’s degree in counseling psychology, both from Alabama A&M University.

Havis enjoys working with children and adolescents, specifically those with neurodevelopmental disorders. She also enjoys treating those with anxiety and depression and working in crisis prevention. Havis uses a Rogerian approach to therapy. She says, “Individuals need tools to be able to thrive in life. We all have the power within us to transform our own lives with the proper support and therapy.”

Havis finds a special connection with the character of Andrea Sachs from "Devil Wears Prada."
