Jamie joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2023, but she has been working in the mental health field for over 4 years! She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Jamie has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Jacksonville State University and a master’s degree in Social Work from Troy University.

Jamie enjoys working with children and their families, neurodivergent clients (including those with Autism and ADHD), and older adults. She is a LGBTQ+ affirming therapist.

Jamie practices wellness by crocheting, painting with alcohol inks, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. A few she is currently enjoying include the "Parasol Protectorate" series by Gail Carriger, the "Jane Steele" series by Lyndsay Faye, and "Sitting Together: Essential Skills for Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy" by Ronald D. Siegel, Susan M. Pollak, and Thomas Pedulla. She finds a special connection with Ivy Hisselpenny from the "Parasol Protectorate." Jamie says, "I relate to Ivy because being underestimated is something that happened to me due to difficulties I had in school related to my ADHD. I am also like Ivy in that I am quirky and protective of those I care about."
