Lynne Kilgore, LPC-S

Lynne joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2020, but she has been working in the mental health field for over 20 years! She is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She has a Bachelor of Science in Counseling and a Master of Education in Counseling, both from the University of Montevallo.

Lynne enjoys working with tweens, teens, adults, and those facing depression and anxiety. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Lynne says, “The client is always encouraged to process their feelings during sessions, and this is of utmost importance in building the client/therapist relationship. It is important to be flexible regarding session plans to fit the clients needs.”

Lynne practices wellness by enjoying outdoor activities, camping in her Rustic Trail Teardrop Camper, and reading. She has 2 dogs, a Pembroke Corgi and an Auggie, and 2 cats. A few interesting facts to help you get to know Lynne better: Her favorite books include "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, "The Accidental Tourist" by Anne Tyler, and "The Seven Habits for Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey. Lynne finds a special connection with Scout from "To Kill a Mockingbird" because they share a similar personality.
