Lynne had the pleasure of growing up in Hokes Bluff, Alabama. She graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in 1982 and began human service work in 1986 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Counseling from the University of Montevallo. Lynne received a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Montevallo in 1994 while she worked in the fields of human services/counseling. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2001 and is a board-certified supervisor for those wishing to become licensed counselors. Lynne focuses on the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy so that people can change a negative pattern of thought that prevents joy. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is also utilized in therapy. Organizations of interest include Alabama Counseling Association, American Association of Christian Counselors, Chi Sigma Iota, and Omicron Delta Kappa. Services include individual counseling for adults, children, and adolescents. Family counseling (including marital) is also included in her services. Common issues of Lynne’s services and expertise include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, sleep, spiritual and behavioral, etc. With a strong background in working with foster care and adoption issues, Lynne brings years of experience to Garrett Counseling.
She enjoys camping on a regular basis, as well as other outdoor activities. Lynne enjoys animals, and love the therapeutic impact of animals. Animal sketching and music are also included in her interests.
