She received her master’s in social work from the University of Alabama in 2006, and Amy is currently pursuing her PhD in Social Work from the University of Alabama.
Amy is passionate about working with LGBTQIA clients, minority populations, children, adolescents, addiction/recovery, and those with serious mental illness. She says, “I have a very eclectic approach to counseling because each client is an individual, but I utilize a lot of CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Art therapy, play therapy, and client centered approaches. I find the client to be my most valuable resource in providing the most tailored approach for each client as possible. I feel it is imperative that both kids and adults understand the link between their thoughts /emotions and behavior/actions.”
