The therapy garden allows us to provide nature therapy and “walk and talk” therapy, as well as allow our staff a space for rest and reflection during their day. Sandplay Therapy (All counselors at our Huntsville location are trained at Level Two Sandtray for working with adults and children)
Sandplay Therapy incorporates the use of sand and toy figures in the therapy sessions. The client will use the figures to create scenes in the sandtray, and the scenes and figures serve as a way for the client to communicate their thoughts, feelings, and understanding of their world. Sandtray can be especially beneficial for clients who have experienced trauma, as well as those with depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns. Much like Play Therapy, Sandtray is beneficial for clients of all ages – including adults!
Sex Therapy
Sex Therapy is a method of therapy that focuses on concerns (medical concerns, psychological concerns, etc.) that impact sexual health. The client will talk about their concerns with their counselor and work to on coping mechanisms to create a healtheir sex life. Sex therapy can involve just the client or the client and their partner. The counselor can work with the client to discuss which option is best.
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)/Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a unique method of therapy that puts the focus on a client’s current and future moments, rather than a client’s past.
Trauma Focused Therapy
Trauma Focused Therapy focuses on the impact experiencing trauma can have a client’s overall health. This method of therapy will help provide client’s with healthier coping skills and healthier methods of processing their trauma.
