Counselor Lynsey, EdS, LPC, NCC

Lynsey joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2021, but she has been working in the mental health field for over 7 years! She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#04736) and a Board Certified Counselor. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Montevallo. Lynsey is also Garrett Counseling’s mental health artist.

Lynsey enjoys working with teens and young adults, as well as those facing ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She uses an eclectic theoretical approach incorporating Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing. She also uses play and creative techniques to enhance personal skills while exploring therapeutic themes.

Lynsey practices wellness by dabbling in crafts of all sorts - knitting, embroidery, and wood-burning, for example. She also enjoys reading, hiking, and playing with her dog - a rambunctious miniature schnauzer named Andy. She also enjoys the TV Show "Parks and Recreation," because she connects with how Leslie Knope is loyal, committed, and energetic.
