Caroline joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2017, but she has been working in the mental health field for over 35 years! She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#2057). She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biology and a Master’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Clinical Psychology from Jacksonville State University.
Caroline enjoys working with women, teens, and those facing anxiety and grief. She uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Client Centered Therapy. She says, “I believe that it’s dysfunctional thinking that leads to dysfunctional emotions or behaviors, so I use CBT with my clients to assist them in changing their thoughts in order to change how they feel and make better choices. I also believe the therapeutic relationship is a powerful one, so with Client Centered Therapy I give space for the client to be the authority in their treatment and assist with change by emphasizing care and concern.”
