Abby joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2026 and has been in the mental health field for almost 2 years. She graduated from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2024. She is an Associate Licensed Counselor (#ALC05223) under the supervision of Caroline Ross LPC-S (#SC03500).
Her work is grounded in person-centered values. She prioritizes creating a safe, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and respected. With couples and families, she primarily uses an emotion-focused approach. This involves helping clients identify and understand underlying emotions, attachment needs, and interaction patterns so they can strengthen emotional connection, improve communication, and respond to one another with greater understanding and compassion. With individuals, she takes a strengths-based and compassionate approach. She works alongside clients to identify existing strengths, resilience, and coping skills while supporting emotional awareness, self-understanding, and growth. Abby enjoys working with teens, adults, and couples/families.
