Holley joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2023, but she has been working in the mental health field for over 11 years. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Holley has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, a Master of Science in Elementary Education, a Master of Science in School Counseling, and a Education Specialist in Counseling, all from Jacksonville State University.
Holley enjoys working with children, teens, young adults, and anyone navigating through transitions in life. She also works a lot with those experiencing anxiety, depression, and self-esteem concerns. Holley uses a Client-Centered Therapy approach to counseling. She says, “I let the client state the problem that brought them to counseling, then work with them to process their perspective. The client and I work together to create a plan using techniques specifically useful to them in order to bring them peace. I empower the client to alter their thoughts and actions in order to create change in their life. Building a positive rapport and working relationship from the beginning is the foundation of all sessions.”
