John joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2026, and he has been in the mental health field for over 28 years. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor. John holds a Master’s degree from the University of Alabama.

John often uses a person-centered approach. He enjoys working with adolescents and adults experiencing grief, depression, and/or trauma.

Highlights -
John practices wellness by walking, playing guitar, modifying guitars, taking slow deep breaths, and thrifting. His favorite books include the Bible, Dan Erlewine's "Guitar Player Repair Guide," and "Your Erroneous Zones" by Dr. Wayne Dyer. He finds a connection with Ralphie from A Christmas Story. John says, "Ralphie is so excited about life but faces so many obstacles. Yet, he doesn't give up and diligently works toward his goal."
