Location(s): Huntsville

Kaitlin joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2025, and she has been in the mental health field since 2024. She is an Associate Licensed Counselor (#ALC05775), under the supervision of Leah Simmons, LPC-S (#SC3234). She received her Master’s of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The University of Central Florida in Orlando in 2025.

Kaitlin enjoys working with children and adults, especially those with anxiety and depression. She says, “I take an integrative approach to counseling, primarily using Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I adapt each session to meet the unique needs of the client, creating a safe and empathetic space for self-exploration. Through Person-Centered Therapy, I foster a non-judgmental, supportive environment, empowering clients to discover their own solutions. Using CBT, I help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, while also equipping them with practical tools for managing distress. ACT principles guide clients in accepting difficult emotions, clarifying their values, and committing to meaningful change, even in the face of obstacles.”

Kaitlin finds a special connection with Sophie from Mamma Mia! She says, "Sophie is curious, optimistic, and deeply values connection and self-discovery. Like Sophie, I’m drawn to understanding where I come from and how relationships shape who we are. She’s also adventurous and open-hearted—qualities I bring into my work as a therapist. I admire how she navigates uncertainty with a sense of hope and isn’t afraid to ask big questions about identity, purpose, and belonging."
