Sarah joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2023, but she has been working in the mental health field for over 2 years. Sarah has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2015) from Indiana University Northwest in Gary Indiana and a Master of Arts in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling (2018) from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso Indiana.

She enjoys working with young adults, clients experiencing life transitions, and clients working through stress and anxiety. Sarah integrates mindfulness-based practices in her sessions, including Person Centered and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She says, “I believe in a collaborative approach – to work alongside people to uncover their intuitive knowledge for managing challenging emotions and life transitions.” Sarah also has extensive experience and training in the area of drug and alcohol treatment.

Sarah practices wellness by exercising, being outdoors, reading, and listening to music. She has 3 cats that she considers her fur babies! A few interesting facts to help you get to know Sarah better: Her favorite books include "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens, "Verity" by Colleen Hoover, and "Man's Search for Meaning" by Viktor Frankl. She finds a special connection with Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter books. Sarah says, "Hermione values friendship and knowledge. She loves to learn and if she doesn't know the answer to something, she looks to find it."
