Sarah joined the Garrett Counseling team in 2023, and she has been working in the mental health field for just over a year. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work.

Sarah enjoys working with all ages, from toddlers to adults. She says, “Every stage of life comes with unique challenges as well as unique strengths.” Sarah also has experience working with clients facing trauma self-worth concerns, as well as victims of abuse. She uses a variety of counseling techniques, including Cognitive Processing Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She appreciates the way each of these approaches allow a client to begin to see themselves through new eyes as they heal.

Sarah practices wellness by doing yoga, walking in nature, and spending time with her husband and their pets. She has several pets, including a Pitbull/Husky mix named "Gaara" and a Miniature Pinscher named "Pippin." She also has 3 other dogs and several cats who have joined their family! A few interesting facts to help you get to know Sarah better: Her favorite books include "Art and Fear" by David Bayles & Ted Orland, the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, and "The Gifts of Imperfection" by Brené Brown. Sarah finds a special connection with Eowyn in Lord of the Rings, because she has always been inspired by Eowyn's quiet fire.
