Now Hiring: Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor (LPC-S)
This one’s for the clinicians who love the work and love helping others grow into it.
Garrett Counseling is looking for a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor to join our team in a role that blends direct client care with meaningful clinical mentorship. If you’ve earned your LPC-S and find yourself energized by both your own caseload and the development of the clinicians around you, this role was built with you in mind.
As an LPC-S at Garrett Counseling, you’ll carry a reduced caseload compared to our clinician-only roles, because we recognize that quality supervision deserves real time and attention. You’ll provide individual and group supervision to up to five associate licensed clinicians (ALCs), supporting their clinical development, case conceptualization, and professional growth as they work toward full licensure.
Supervision at Garrett Counseling isn’t a formality. Our associate clinicians are actively engaged – asking questions, staffing cases, and working through the nuances of real clinical work with clients across a range of populations and presentations. The clinicians who thrive in this role are the ones who remember what it felt like to be early in their career and want to be the kind of supervisor they wish they’d had.
When our leadership-track team members describe what makes Garrett Counseling different, a few things come up consistently. Good ideas get heard and acted on. Concerns raised to leadership receive honest responses and real follow-through. And growth here means a broader sphere of influence. That same spirit shapes how we approach the LPC-S role. You won’t be dropped into supervision responsibilities without support. Our supervising counselors have the option to receive supervision themselves for those seeking additional guidance in supervising their supervisees. You’ll have the backing of our Clinical Director, established clinical frameworks, and a team of colleagues who are genuinely invested in doing this work well together.
Our values – Integrity, Belonging, and Curiosity – are especially alive in this role. Supervising well requires all three: the honesty to give direct, useful feedback; the relational intentionality to make a developing clinician feel genuinely supported; and the curiosity to keep growing as a practitioner and a mentor, even when you’ve already accomplished a great deal.
What you get:
- Reduced caseload in recognition of supervision responsibilities
- Supervision of up to five ALC clinicians
- Salary plus session-based performance bonus
- 3% retirement match after one year
- Up to 20 free CEUs per year, including supervision CEUs
- Sandtray certification through Brave Play (Levels 1 & 2) within the first six months
- No nights or weekends; 4-day schedule option available
- BCBS health coverage
- Vision, dental, and life insurance
- Sick Time + paid holidays
- Administrative support for scheduling, billing, and insurance
What we’re looking for:
- Active LPC-S licensure in Alabama
- Comfortably carrying a clinical caseload alongside supervisory responsibilities
- Genuine investment in the development of early-career clinicians
- Strong values alignment with integrity, belonging, and curiosity
- Someone who leads with honesty, builds trust, and stays curious
