About the Presenter: Dr. King holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision and received a Post-Doctoral Management Certificate in Leadership and Organizational Strategy focused on cultural intelligence, emotional intelligence, and diversity intelligence. He has over 15 years of experience delivering counselor education to diverse supervisees using various digital technologies in conjunction with face-to-face experiential learning modalities. Dr. King frequently provides individualized ethical consultations to private practice counselors, conducts forensic mental health evaluations, and gives professional opinions to state licensing boards and personal injury attorneys to guide the resolution of complex legal and ethical matters.


Workshop Description:
This workshop will equip clinical supervisors providing distance-based services with hands-on tools to effectively address communications, materials needed, limitations of confidentiality and privacy, possible technological failure, alternative supervision formats, and additional considerations necessary to determine the appropriateness of this service delivery format.

Learning Objectives:

  • Appropriate techniques of distance supervision given the supervisee’s specific needs,
  • Measures to minimize the risk of inappropriate distribution of confidential information.
